My hair straightener plates chiped off...why?
Target is great about taking back defective items. I took back a microwave without a receipt after months, they didn't give me any problems....
I don't know why the plates would fall off unless it is defective workmanship on the part of the manufacturer. So I can't help you with that part of your question.
I would take it back, the worst they can do is to say no, but that will likely not happen.

VEEERY CHEEP!!!! get one for at least $50!

It chipped and broke because it's ceramic and cheap. You can take it back to Target as long as you have a receipt.

Probably defective. Try and take it back. Try a curlmaster brand from Sally's Beauty Supply, costs about 40$ it's worth it!
