Ok, so I need a good straightener with a plate width of 1/2 inch. That's one half of an inch, not an inch. I'm a guy, so my hair's a bit shorter and 1 inch is cutting it close [haha, no pun intended]. A 1 inch would do if absolutely necessary, but I have seen a few 1/2 inch and would like to know the best one to get and at the best price. Thanks in advance. :)

Try a ceramic straightener by Jilbere . They have a black velvety outside, gold plates, and say "Ceramic Tools" on the outside. You can get them at most drug stores, or even Wal-Mart. They're not that expensive, and they work really well.
I'm use it too and I very rarely burn myself.
