Does any1 have a remington wet-to-straight hair straightener? i think i have a problem...?

i have a remington wet-to-straight hair iron and i've been using it for a while now. i started to notice these brown things on the straightener. i dont kno if the straightener is becoming "messed-up" or it isnt gonna work or anything. its kinda like these small crispy things on the iron/surface. if any1 knows wat it is pleeeez let me kno...........

It might not be burnt hair, it might be burnt product or a number of other things. The problem with brands like Remington is that they are not made as well as other flat irons. Instead of distributing heat evenly, they have "hot spots". Its where since the heat is not regulated properly it gets really hot in a spot for short periods of time. But because of that it can easily end in damage and burning. So I guess my advice is this, either buy a new/higher end flat iron from a place like Sallys beauty supply. They aren't too much more there for the better quality you'll get. Maybe spend like 30-40 dollars. Its worth it. Or take some alchohol to the flat iron you have to get off the burnt residue on the plates, and turn down the heat. It may be that your flat iron is just done too. But the hot spots are not a good sign, sorry!

I've seen those on other straightners, I think they are burnt hairs. Maybe whipe them off with a damp washcloth, don't scrub to hair. I think because you straighten your hair wet it gets burned a little bit on the straightner, or if you have recently dyed or high lighted your hair. I wouldn't worry about it, unless if it becomes really worse.

It sounds like its actually burnt parts of your hair, maybe the protiens in it....

if you still want to use it i would suggest bring the heat down if it is possible

i have one and i only use it if my hair is dry other wise you'll ruin your hair more and smell it burning but i think it is your hair burning onto it because if say you lite a piece of your hair on fire it will turn a lighter brown and shrivel up and smell burnt i would recommend using it less or not at all

Don't EVER straighten your hair wet. It burns it.
