I know i asked this already but what do i clean a thrift shop hair straightener with?

Try vinegar on a cotton ball, I use it to clean old curling irons that have burned hairspray on them...or go over it with rubbing alcohol.

I would wet a cotton ball with alcohol and wipe it down. The heat of the straightener itself should kill anything else.
