How much is too much to use a hair straightener?

I have recently bought a Sedu hair straightener and I was wondering how often I should use it so that it doesn't hurt my hair over time.

Is it OK to Sedu my hair every week? What about every couple of days?

make sure your hair r bone dry.. on top of it, when using straightener... try avoiding chemical hair products. they will ruin ur hair like anything. secondly... dont use straightener on wet or damp hair and dont emphasize on the ends too much.

Personally, I try not to get in the habit of straightening my hair everyday. Probably, because my mother and aunts have told me that "It will damage my hair in the long run." And well sometimes, mothers do know what they are talking about. On the other hand, I have friends that have straightened it every single day for years and years and their hair is fine. It is always nice to feel comfortable in your own hair, whether it's wavi, or curly just so that the days that it's not perfectly straight you are still feeling great. For now, I recommend you straighten it everyday or every few days, but if you notice a change, like your hair is dryer or just not as glamorous and healthy as before, then lower the temp. and/or do it less. Healthy hair, regardless if it's curly or straight will always be the nicest.

I say use it once a month. For me I will never use hot tools unless if it's for a special occasion because before I use mines every other day with hair protection and I still have split ends. And make sure you use conditoner.

i have a chi straightener and i blow dry and straighten my hair almost everyday. During the summer it seems to be fine. But in the winter my hair gets really dry and staticy. So i use a shampoo and conditioner that moisturizes it helps alot!! also keep the ends of your hair trimmed that will keep your straight hair from looking frizzy on the ends. My hair dresser also told me that it is important to use some sort of hair product or hairspray on your hair before anytime that you apply heat to it.
