Which hair straightener should i use on curly/frizzy hair?

I do not straighten my hair that often. I used to so it is very dry. I use the SCP Tourmaline ceramic iron, but it is kind of old already, and I am assuming technology has come up with something better by now.

Is there a hair straightener that you have found keeps your hair unbelievably straight? Even in the humidity? Humidity puffs my hair up like no tomorrow! Even with product! I want something that is as least damaging as possible. Today, I found some info on BaBybliss, and ghd, which I have never heard of. What do you think of these? What do you think will be the best iron for me?

The BEST of the best would either be farouk chi or np straighteners. they are pricey, ranging from $130-200, but they are worth the money. i have an NP straightener and i am very happy with it. I bought it at my hair salon, and it was $150 canadian with tax. i am thrilled with it! i've had it for a year and it makes my hair shiny, silky, and straight until i wash it.

You can buy farouk chi straighteners online or on ebay. Ask your hairdresser for other great brands.

If your looking for a cheap strightener then im not too sure oh how many you can find that will help your hair. I know the Chi is really good but it is really pricey. I know if you do find one that is at a reasonable price make sure that the heat content on it is high enough. I have thick hair and it takes me about an hour to really make it look the way i want it to because i have thick hair. So if you are looking for a specific strightener, make sure the heat temp is high enough and the price is just right. Places where you can find some are Ulta, Target, Walmart,(with these two places you have to be careful and make sure you find good one), and at your local malls if they have an all beauty shop. If you go to Sally's beauty supplies they have great ones there. So over all you just have to find one that has a good heat content and a price your willing to pay. Oh it also helps with humidity not being on your side, you should strighten your hair the night before and sleep on it to make it flatter but still straight. Then in the mornining but some strightening gel in it like i use victoria secret's stright gel to help and it still looks good in the morning.
