well if u want quality u gotta pay i am black and have thick kinky hair i dont get relaxers and i only flat iron my hair. go to folica.com and u will see all kinds of straightners, u can see ratings and cutomer reviews, the 1 1/2 inch sedu has the best rating i bought that one and it works miracles, if it can straighten my hair it will straighten yours

EDIT: i had maxiglide before, and it kept breaking, and the teeth ripped my hair a lil bit, the sedu is ceramic and tourmaline

but in order to get this done you would have go to a salon i believe or order it off line but let me tell you my moms hair is naturally curly and when our stylist put a maxi glide in it .it wuz straight for a month or two...i think you should try it!

I see that people are saying it breaks your hair off, but thats not true....The person before did mention she does not get relaxers....that may be one reason why her hair got torn.

Jibere irons are pretty good and not that expensive. They wont provide protection thats as good as an expensive one though so make sure you use lots of thermal protection to replace your hairs natural oils. Also, at least buy a ceramic one. I love the paul mitchell smoothing iron but its pricey.

my baby sitter use to iron her hair with a towel on the board.

it worked for her.

she would lay her hair on the board and place a towel

on top of the hair and set a steaming iron on the towel.

and it worked. You might need help with your short hair.
